My thoughts before reading; This was a goodreads suggestion. It has been on my TBR list for a little while so I figured it was time to dive on in.......

My after thoughts;  This is going to take me a moment because having just finished reading the final page I am in agony. I knew from the beginning of this book that it was going to be a difficult read.
I found myself totally entranced by this book. I started reading on the evening of the 23rd and found myself still awake at 4 am on the 25th still reading. All I wanted to do after a few hours of sleep was continue reading this book. I had so many appts I couldn't and by the time I was able to sit down to finish I was beat. After a good nights sleep I was once again able to give this book my undivided attention and I was soon back where I started, completely taken in.
I could not stop reading, I felt as if I was there with Emma experiencing everything she was. The happy the sad the hurt the anger the pain and the tears. I will carry this story with me for many years to come and I am very anxious to read book two but at the same time I am terrified. What if the fear I am feeling right now turns out to be the reality of the story. I don't know if I can handle it. I am not breaking between books as I sometimes do, I need to read the next installment. Please see my note below before reading this book

I am forgoing my usual tag of ----> Happy Reading!! :-) for the time being because the intensity of this story. But I do hope you give this story a chance it is an awesome story.

****NOTE**** This book deals with both physical and mental abuse. Anyone who might find these issues to be disturbing should be aware before starting the book.

  1. I found myself in this situation while reading Beautiful Disaster. I couldn't think clearly about anything other than Travis and Abby.
I've heard this story is all-consuming, but without spoilers, are you able to say if it is in any way uplifting or hopeful? I don't know if my heart can take a depressing finale...

  2. Wow, how to answer this question..... Yes it is an all consuming story. You feel so deeply while reading that even when you are not reading you are still with them. I think that, yes there are many parts that are uplifting and hopeful. Emma is living in a horrid situation and that makes for a very heart wrenching read, but, she has an awesome best friend and she is falling in love for the first time. It is not an easy road to travel. I will not promise you a happy ending because there is not one in this book. You are left hanging on to a ledge and if I had read this when first released I would have surely imploded. I don't want to turn you away from this book at all. It is a story that will live with me forever. Angst aside, I hope you will give it a shot. I will add this, before reading several people had said wait til after all the books have been released. I am impatient and waiting is not one of my virtues so I read both books that have been released thus far and book two left me hanging on yet another ledge. I will be reading book 3 on release day I assure you.

    1. My author stalking skills have been lacking over the summer. I am not sure when the next book will release. She has the title listed on Goodreads but no expected release date. I seriously need to brush up on the aforementioned skills :-) (Out of Breath is the title of book 3)
