Sharing my thoughts on what I am currently reading. What I can't wait to read and things I have read a million times. I might also throw in a thing or two I find around the web as well
No one is like Daemon Black. When he set out to prove his feelings for Katy, he wasn't fooling around. Doubting him isn't something she’ll do again and now that they've made it through the rough patches, well, there’s a lot of spontaneous combustion going on. But even he can’t protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they loved. With help coming from the most unlikely source and Adam’s death still lingering with those who loved him, friends will become the deadliest of enemies and the villains will no longer be clear. When each step they take in discovering the truth puts them in the path of the secret organization responsible torturing and testing hybrids, the more Katy realizes there is no end to what she’s capable of. They won’t turn back, even if the outcome will shatter their worlds forever.
My thoughts; I have waited for this book. Then last week I heard people were already reading. Surely the universe was conspiring against me. Then I heard Kindle had release it early. I had pre-ordered through iBooks so I was stuck waiting. By Monday evening I was developing a twitch.
Then something wonderful happened. I had just settled in for the night. Content knowing Daemon would soon be coming to me. Before I could fall asleep my phone alerted me to a new email. Opal was available and on its way to me.
*cut to me devouring the book*
Katy and Daemon are learning how to live with so many changes. Their lives were turned upside down and inside out and coping can be hard. But the two of them together are strong; they have a bond people only dream of.
Dee is struggling with the loss of Adam and it puts a huge strain on her and Katy’s friendship. And trying to live a “normal” life while everything is falling apart around them is almost impossible. Dawson is hurting; he needs Beth like he needs air to breathe and every moment without her is killing him. But sometimes you have to slow down, look at the big picture and see how much is at stake.
Trying to write this review without spoilers is extremely difficult. So many things happen, some things you were expecting, some you were praying never would. Some things you have been holding your breathe for. Others will leave you completely devastated. And then you are left with the cliffhanger to end all cliffhangers.
And on that note I will finish out this review the same way I finished the book, completely and utterly frustrated. And also with a little snippet for the book that completely encompasses how I feel about the end…..
It sucked—sucked worse than people who pirated books, sucked more than waiting a year for the next book in a beloved series, and sucked more than a brutal cliffhanger ending.
This sentence is like a cruel joke! Well played Jennifer Armentrout, well played ;)
