The ruthless and brilliant brother Vishous possesses a destructive curse and a frightening ability to see the future. As a member of the Brotherhood, he has no interest in love or emotion, only the battle with the Lessening Society. But when a mortal injury puts him in the care of a human surgeon, Dr. Jane Whitcomb compels him to reveal his inner pain and taste true pleasure for the first time-until a destiny he didn't choose takes him into a future that does not include her...

My Thoughts; Okay, so when I finished the previous book, Lover Revealed, I was left feeling as though Butch's story was not complete because he and Vishous are such a part of each other. I was torn between two different feelings--what I know will be and what if. As I started this book I was pulled into the what if feeling even deeper, and then some of Vishous's inner demons started to rear their ugly heads and although I was still on my "What If" train, I was quickly derailed. The story took a left turn and there was a really big HOLY COW moment towards the beginning and an Errk, beep...beep...beep (that is Stop and Back up, in normal people language) moment toward the end. Although Vishous wouldn't be my choice for a hellren,  he is definitely more than meets the eye ;)

hellren (n.) Male vampire who has been mated to a female.

Happy Reading!! :-)

  1. It's a toss-up for me on that hellren issue. I adore Vishous and thought this was an extraordinary glimpse in to what made him who he is and his story with Jane as to who he can/will become. The primary draw for me on all of the BDB (Black Dagger Brotherhood) books is that these guys (ok, live with it...they are fucking real to me) are powerful, smart, passionate, and loyal as well as each carrying a wound or scar so deep it is difficult to manage life. They are fatally flawed yet throughout the series we see time and again the redemptive nature of love. As much as I love Zsadist, I am drawn to Vishous because of his background, his 'kinky fuckery', powerful attraction and loyalty to Butch and his deepening love of Jane. Not to mention "Mommie dearest"...

    1. I think you summed that up quite nicely Janne. :-) V scares me sometimes but he loves the people he loves with every molecule of DNA he possesses. But I will always be left with that little piece of me that wishes him and Butch would have ended up together. I know, I know....I should let it go by now. hahaha
